Making an electrical splice using the
splice connectors we supply

You do not need to strip wires to use these splices They are called Insulation Displacement Splices and that's exactly what they do. They displace the insulation when you force the parts together.

Just make a nice clean cut on the end of the wire to be spliced in and leave the main wire exactly as it is.

In the following example the existing wire is shown as the white wire. This would normally be the power wire that you want to splice into on the vehicle.

The take off wire is shown as the yellow wire.

Lay the main wire (white) in the front groove of the splice.

Insert the take off wire in the rear groove and push it in as far as it will go until it contacts the stop molded into the splice.

Carefully close the splice by hand, then using a pair of pliers, push the metal displacement blade all the way in until it is level with the plastic. The displacement blade will push the insulation away as it slides through and then it will make contact with the actual wire inside.

Finally latch the clip over the top to cover the top of the displacement blade and hold the splice closed.
