This
mount is specifically designed to work with 39 mm or 41 mm diameter front fork tubes. There
are several advantages to the clamp approach as opposed to the conventional light bar.
The first big advantage is it is NOT model specific, and you can fit them to ANY motorcycle that has 39 mm or 41 mm front fork tubes.
In fact, the only difference between the two sizes is the hole for the fork tube which means if you buy the 39
mm and later want to swap it to a new bike with 41 mm tubes they can be machined out to suit.
These clamps are CNC-machined from aircraft-grade solid billet bar stock aluminum.
Please NOTE!
We no longer sell the lamps, just the clamps to mount them. The clamps are designed for any adjustable bottom mount
lamp with a 5/16" or 3/8" diameter mounting bolt.
All lamps shown in this web page are 4-1/2" 35 Watt sealed beam units available from many motorcycle accessory
stockists.
For some electrical work you may need splices
for joining into existing wires on the bike. If you have never used
one of these splices then please click here to see how they are installed. |

These light clamps are mounted below the stock turn signals.
Naturally the light clamps can be mounted anywhere on the fork tubes providing they do not interfere with the operation
of the suspension.

We have been asked about clearance for windshields and while
we do give a dimension here be warned, this is like trying to measure a rubber band. This shows one
clamp and light set up for a stock Shadow VLX600 with the clamp below the turn indicator mount and the light beam
aligned for use in conjunction with the stock headlight.
The vagaries or problems arise as a result of where the clamp is mounted vertically on the fork tube, and then
where the lamp is located rotationally on the clamp and finally the azimuth or pointing of the light beam down
the road.
Any one or any combination of all three issues can affect this dimension and the resulting
clearance available for the windshield. You may want to check our return policies before
trial fitting to make sure they are returnable if they will not fit your particular setup. |

The 41 mm bare clamps ready to be installed. This is an
AM (As Machined) version after vibratory deburring. The clamps come complete with Metric stainless steel socket
head cap screws and Allen wrench included.
The light mounting hole is 9.5mm (3/8") diameter in
both 39mm and 41mm clamps.
The latest version of these clamps have the lightening hole in the center and not offset to one side as shown here.
The clamps are now symetrical.

If you are ordering the BC (Buffed like Chrome) versions,
here is a NOTE in-line with our "no surprises" policy.
We will polish ALL of the outside visible surfaces,
BUT we do not have the equipment to polish inside this hole so it is left AS MACHINED
EVEN ON THE BC VERSIONS
Due to the low volume of BC versus AM it is not
economical at this time to spend the considerable sum necessary for the equipment to polish inside this hole. Sorry,
but life is full of compromises, and we would rather tell you now than have you unhappy when the clamps arrive. |

Good Vibrations...
|
|
These bikes vibrate really freely so a thread lock agent
is not a luxury, it should be mandatory every time you assemble things on any Motorcycle.
This bottle will last for a long time considering it only
takes a drop on the threads to make it stick. We can't tell you how many drops there are in the bottle, but it
MUST be a LOT!!
We stock the Red and Blue
thread lock.
(Actual threadlock supplied may differ from items
shown here)
|
Red
is the strongest and if applied correctly, it requires about 250+ degree heat to loosen. We have had success using
a hair dryer for this purpose when disassembling. A paint
stripping
heat gun could also be used,
BUT
great care must be exercised so you DO NOT DAMAGE paint
in the same area, as these guns can get to 900 degrees
and more. |
| Blue
is for frequently disassembled parts and only requires normal tools and a little extra pressure to loosen. Often
though oil and water can degrade the locking strength a little and that's why we also offer the Red
as it has a much stronger grip, but requires more effort to remove it when you need to. |
