If you have feet the size of the average Japanese rider then this is probably NOT
the place for you. If you have bigger feet (U.S. size 7 and up) and would
like crisper cleaner feel to the gear shifting process then you have found it. |
| |
|
| |
Our Boss has itty-bitty feet, U.S.-size 7-1/2 and he whines that EVEN HE gets tangled
in the gearshift when wearing sneakers or boots.
As is well known, if the Boss is happy, everyone is happy, so we set about developing the gearshift mounting extension.
Available in 2 boot sizes, well not exactly but 1" and 1-1/2" extension, which should make even the Yeti
/ Sasquatch / Boss, happy on his Honda Shadow VLX600. |

Please note!
Because this moves the stock shifter forward by either 1" or 1-1/2" depending on the model ordered, it
canNOT
be used with the Heel-Toe shifter HTAM/BC. If you later purchase a Heel-Toe shifter then the extension must
be completely removed . |

An interesting side note. All the people who have tried the extension remarked on the crisper shifting feel. Probably
because of two things, the first is it gets your foot clear of the pedal and secondly, the extender system allows
a better positioning of the pedal relative to the foot peg. Try it, you WILL LOVE it. |

Which size is for me, 1" or 1-1/2"??
The best idea is to sit on the bike with your toe under the gearshift.
Have someone place a small piece of masking tape where the stock shifter pedal is on your boot.
Now, add tape 1" and 1-1/2" forward of that first piece and see what you think and order accordingly. |
| |
|
| |
PLEASE NOTE
THESE EXTENSIONS CANNOT BE USED
IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUT HEEL-TOE SHIFTER.
The Heel-toe shifter (click
here for more information) requires the stock Honda gearshift mounting
point and these extenders move that mounting point forward. |

Good Vibrations...
|
|
These bikes vibrate really freely so a thread lock agent
is not a luxury, it should be mandatory every time you assemble things on any Motorcycle.
This bottle will last for a long time considering it only
takes a drop on the threads to make it stick. We can't tell you how many drops there are in the bottle, but it
MUST be a LOT!!
We stock the Red and Blue
thread lock.
(Actual threadlock supplied may differ from items
shown here)
|
Red
is the strongest and if applied correctly, it requires about 250+ degree heat to loosen. We have had success using
a hair dryer for this purpose when disassembling. A paint
stripping
heat gun could also be used,
BUT
great care must be exercised so you DO NOT DAMAGE paint
in the same area, as these guns can get to 900 degrees
and more. |
| Blue
is for frequently disassembled parts and only requires normal tools and a little extra pressure to loosen. Often
though oil and water can degrade the locking strength a little and that's why we also offer the Red
as it has a much stronger grip, but requires more effort to remove it when you need to. |
